Abstract
In this paper, we argue that the enactive cognition perspective in developmental language acquisition studies opens up new directions of basic research in the field and we show how this perspective is more illuminating and appropriate in comparison to the use of traditional, grammatical characteristics of the words acquired by children, such as part of speech.
